BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Azerbaijani Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) vessels transported 180,506 tons of dry cargo in January 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from ASCO indicates that this figure is a substantial increase compared to the same period last year - 120,310 tons, or three times more.
Meanwhile, the dry cargo transported by ASCO ships totaled 60,196 tons in January 2024.
Additionally, there was positive growth in tanker transportation. In January 2024, 328,533 tons of cargo were transported, while this number rose by 9.38 percent, or 30,829 tons, reaching 359,362 tons in the same period this year.
The volume of wagon transportation also saw a 2.76 percent increase.
"There has been a 2.76 percent increase in wagon transportation. In January of 2024, 2,688 wagons were transported, while in the same month of 2025, this number rose to 2,762. A significant increase was also observed in truck transportation (TIR).
In January 2024, 2,980 trucks were transported, while in January 2025, this number reached 4,139, resulting in a 38.88 percent increase," the ASCO noted.
