ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 26. Tengizchevroil plans to produce 96.2 million tons of oil in 2025, contributing to the development of Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, it is expected that production will grow primarily due to the expansion project at the Tengiz field, which is set to start operations in the first half of the year. Work is also continuing at the Karachaganak field and on the Caspian shelf (Kalamkas-More and Khazar).
Kazakhstan produced 87.7 million tons of oil in 2024. The slight decrease compared to the plan was due to maintenance work at the major fields - Tengiz and Kashagan - as well as temporary restrictions related to international agreements.
In 2024, Kazakhstan exported 68.6 million tons of oil. In 2025, it plans to export 70.5 million tons. The main customers of Kazakhstani oil are countries that obtain it through the CPC pipeline, the Atyrau-Samara, and Atasu-Alashankou pipelines, and the port of Aktau.
