BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. The consumer loan portfolio of banks operating in Azerbaijan by the end of March 2025 reached 8.6 billion manat ($5 billion), reflecting a substantial increase.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) indicates that this marks an increase of 1.46 billion manat ($858.8 million), or 20.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2024 (7.1 billion manat ($4.1 billion)).
Meanwhile, the consumer loan portfolio stood at 8.54 billion manat ($5 billion) by the end of February 2025, and in March alone, Azerbaijani banks issued consumer loans worth 59.6 million manat ($35 million).
The total loan portfolio of banks amounted to 27.8 billion manat ($16.3 billion) by the end of the reporting period, a rise of 3.78 billion manat ($2.2 billion), or 15.7 percent, year-on-year. This figure was 24.1 billion manat ($14.1 billion) in the same period of 2024.
