BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. Global oil demand is projected to increase by 1.29 million barrels per day (mb/d) in 2025, reaching 105.14 mb/d, according to OPEC’s latest outlook, Trend reports.
This forecast is unchanged from the previous estimate.
Among OECD countries, demand is expected to grow modestly by 0.14 mb/d, driven primarily by the Americas, where consumption is projected at 20.57 mb/d. Europe is set to contribute a small increase to 13.51 mb/d, while Asia-Pacific is forecast to see a slight decline to 7.13 mb/d. Overall, total OECD demand is expected to reach 45.83 mb/d.
Non-OECD demand is forecast to rise by 1.15 mb/d, supported by growth in China (16.85 mb/d), India (5.70 mb/d), and other Asian countries, as well as healthy gains in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and other regions. Total non-OECD oil demand is expected to reach 59.31 mb/d in 2025.
The combined effect brings total world oil demand to 105.14 mb/d in 2025, up from 103.84 mb/d in 2024, reflecting continued strong consumption in emerging economies alongside steady OECD demand.
