I.Khalilova / The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan has submitted a project of regulations with the latest changes in the tariff system due to the transformation from a multi-stage tariff system to a fewer stage tariff system, Mirgasim Vagabov, the chief of the Financial Tariff Control Central Department said on 21 September.
The change of the tariff system envisages the introduction of a tri-stage system (0%, 5% and 15%).
The changes touched upon the rates of customs duty on telecommunications, agriculture, construction, and other issues. The rates for importing commodities will be increased from 10% to 15%. A decrease of rates is expected for mechanisms necessary for domestic production, Vagob said. The new tariff system may to be introduced starting from 1 January 2008.
