Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 February / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan made up AZN 2,022,600 in January, or 11.3% more than in the same period of 2007, according to the State Statistics Committee. The volume of industrial production and services in non-oil sector of industry increased by 15.3%.
The growth rate in the extractive industry made up 10.7%, making up AZN 1,509,100 with specific weight of the total industrial production being 74.6%. The growth rate in the manufacturing factory equaled 4.7%, comprising AZN 375.6mln (18.6%). Production in electric energy, gas, and water fields amounted to AZN 137.9mln (12.7% increase).
A 4/5 part of the increase in industrial production was covered with the oil sector. The oil production increased by 9.1% and gas production by 99.4%.
Production of machinery and equipment increased by 25.3%, metallurgical industry and ready products from metal by 45.3%, wooden materials by 58%, foodstuffs by 12%, and construction materials by 3 times, chemical production by 61.4%.
The share of the non-governmental sector in the aforementioned period comprised 79.3% (AZN 1,603,000) of total industrial production. An increase in the non-governmental sector was 20% compared to governmental production which decreased by 6.6%.
