Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 30 / Trend , I.Khalilova/ The Azerbaijani Parliament adopted corrections to the Code of Administrative Violations, envisaging toughening of sanctions on violation of rules of use with Precious metals and stones, as well as jewelry and domestic items at a plenary meeting on Dec. 30.
Rise of fine sanctions is connected not only with growth of violations in this field, but also with growth rate of economic development in the country, Ali Huseynov, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on legal policy and institutional construction.
Jewelry activity in Azerbaijan began in Jun. 2007 and the Assay Chamber at the Finance Ministry supervised over this activity. According to statistic data, 351 protocols were developed on administrative violations within 11 months in 2008. A total of AZN 37,000 fine sanctions were transferred to public budget on base of these protocols.
"Despite toughening of supervision over use of precious metals and stones, the rules are often violated. Therefore, toughening of sanction will enable to prevent them," the head of the commission said.
