The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry and the U.S. signed an intergovernmental agreement for joint financing of projects in Azerbaijan.
The agreement was signed by Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov and U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID) Coordinator to Azerbaijan Scot Taylor.
Under the memorandum, USAID jointly with the Azerbaijani government will finance trade and investment programs, planning and management of expenditure, competitiveness of the private sector and social and economic development of regions in 2009-2011.
The total budget program is $45 million, out of which $24.3 million will be allocated by the U.S. and $20.7 million by the Azerbaijani government.
