Uzbek Railways continues to accept carriages with cargo destined for Tajikistan, despite suspending train movement on the Galaba-Amuzang section, Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Railways) said on Tuesday.
"The Uzbek Railways continues to receive from the neighboring railway administrations, carriages with goods following to the Khatlon section of Tajik Railways. There are more than 270 received carriages, which adversely affects the operation of the Uzbek railways," the report said.
In order to avoid demurrage of carriages with national economic goods for Tajikistan, leadership of the Uzbek Railways has repeatedly informed the Tajik counterparts about the willingness to transfer these carriages to Tajikistan through intergovernmental Kudukli point.
However, according to the report, the Tajik Railway has not responded to the Uzbek side's appeal so far.
At 8th picket of the 30-km the pillars of the railway bridge of the railway ferrying Galaba - Amuzang destructed because of the explosion on November 16. Due to this the movement of the passenger and freight trains were stopped. At present operative-investigative activities implemented about this fact.
There was an explosion on 30-km railway of the Galaba-Amuzang stage on Nov.16. As a result destruction of the pillars of the railway bridge on the stretch was recorded. In this regard, all passenger and freight traffic was suspended on this section.
