Assistance in export of goods to be rendered to Uzbek small businesses

The assistance will be rendered to the Uzbek small businesses in the export of goods, the fund's management told Trend.

The Fund for Support of Small Businesses and Private Entrepreneurship, established under the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan, intends to assist in the export of domestic goods and services in the amount of not less than $1 billion.

The fund intends to place the commercial offers on export from more than 3,000 Uzbek enterprises on e-trading platforms, the fund said.

The fund is currently taking actions to establish and develop cooperation with the foreign trade organizations.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Fund and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA). At the same time, over 10 agreements were signed with South Korean companies on export and attracting investments worth of over $40 million.

Furthermore, the volume of demand for export of fruits and vegetables to Russia was determined (1,500 metric tons), contacts were established with the trade organizations of Japan, Singapore, EU, CIS and Persian Gulf countries for determining the sought-after commodity groups.

The Fund for Support of Exports of Small Businesses and Private Entrepreneurship was created in 2013 in accordance with the decree of the Uzbek president.

Currently, the fund's database, which allows determining the most needed commodity positions on global and regional markets, includes 19,000 companies of the country.

The database contains information on the range, types and variety of products produced by each enterprise. It was formed and is being regularly updated on the basis of the marketing researches of the fund.

Throughout its operation period, the fund has rendered legal, financial and organizational services to nearly 2,400 business entities of Uzbekistan for conclusion of export contracts worth $1.25 billion.
