The amount of vehicles in Turkey decreased by 32.7 percent in June 2018, compared with the same period last year, amounting to 22.679 million cars, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUİK) said in a report on Aug. 24.
According to the report, 54.3 percent accounted for the share of sedan cars, 16.4 percent - vans and trucks, 13.9 percent – motorcycles, 8.2 percent - tractors and other vehicles (7.2 percent).
"In June 2018, 64,341 new vehicles were registered in Turkey," said the report.
According to the report, 22.2 million accounted for vehicles in Turkey in 2017, which is 5.4 percent more than in 2016.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey.
Moreover, Turkey manufactures local brands of buses, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
