Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (TCOR) have launched biaxially-oriented polypropylene film (BOPP) production with a capacity of 21,000 tons of annual output, Trend reports via Vatan newspaper.
The total cost of the project is about 31.7 million euros. The raw material used is the TPP 382 BF polypropylene, which is also produced here and has excellent dielectric properties, high transparency, durability and stability during processing.
In terms of its parameters and performance characteristics, this polymer complies with international standards, including those established for food and medicine, the newspaper report said.
The range of products manufactured at Turkmenbashi refineries includes dozens of goods from high-octane gasoline to liquefied gas and polypropylene.
Turkmenistan plans to increase the capacity of the oil refining industry to 20 million tons of oil by 2020, to 22 million tons by 2025, to 30 million tons by 2030.
The country produces annually about 10 million tons of oil at the present stage, a significant part of which is processed at local enterprises.
