A meeting with a delegation led by Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Central Asia Neil McCain was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan , Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The parties noted the long-term nature of cooperation, reviewed ongoing projects and the EBRD strategy for Turkmenistan for the period until 2024. An exchange of views took place regarding the socio-economic situation in the region.
The EBRD was established in 1991. The bank has invested 280 million euros in total in various sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan as part of 72 investment projects implemented throughout the country. It forecasts a growth in Turkmenistan's real GDP of 6.3 percent in 2019 and 6 percent in 2020, provided that external demand for gas remains.
