The production of aluminum ingots in Iran increased by 71 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - September 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, five major Iranian aluminum manufacturers produced a total of about 212,000 tons of aluminum ingots during the reporting period. This figure was about 124,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
“Thus, Iranian Aluminum Company produces 95,700 tons of aluminum ingots over 6 months, Hormozal Aluminum Company – 45,400 tons, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 33,900 tons, South Aluminum Company – 25,400 tons and Iran Alumina Company – 11,200 tons,” the report said.
In addition, Iran’s aluminum ingots production increased by 84 percent in the 6th month of current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020) compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 36,900 tons of aluminum ingots were produced in the sixth month. This figure was 19,900 tons in the same period last Iranian year, the report noted.
According to the report, at the same time, the Iran Alumina Company produced about 122,000 tons of aluminum powder within 6 months. This figure increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (117,000 tons).
