The People's Bank of China (PBC) will support Chinese financial institutions in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), including in the field of green finance, Trend reports referring to Kazinform.
"The People's Bank of China and the AIFC maintain fruitful cooperation and exchange of experience on issues of mutual interest, including investment and finance," experts of the PBC said.
According to the experts, Chinese financial institutions have achieved certain results in cooperation with the AIFC, including the participation of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Silk Road Fund in the capital of the AIFC Exchange (AIX), as well as the listing of China Construction Bank (CCB) bonds on AIX.
"We are seeing positive progress by the AIFC in the development of green finance. We’ll also continue to support Chinese financial institutions in implementing appropriate cooperation in accordance with the principles of doing business and expect new results from cooperation between the two parties," the experts noted.
"We hope that the financial institutions of China and Kazakhstan will further strengthen ties, as well as jointly contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of the green economy," concluded the experts.
The AIFC Green Finance Center was established in June 2018 to develop and promote green finance in Kazakhstan and the Central Asia region.
