Iran's raw steel exports amounted to 3.49 million tons in total during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports citing Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
According to the statistics, this is an increase of 36 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In addition, Iran exported 1.62 million tons of steel products over the first six months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 69 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, Iran imported 361,000 tons of steel products within the mentioned period. This is an increase of 1 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the report, Iran exported 673,000 tons of sponge iron in the 6 months. This is an increase of 287 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 174,000 tons of sponge iron were exported in Iran in the same period last Iranian year.
