BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. Iran’s non-oil imports from Uzbekistan increased by 2.34 percent in value and 43.5 percent in volume, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Within 5 months, Iran imported a total of 23,600 tons of goods worth approximately $33.3 million, according to the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Meanwhile, in the first 5 months of the last Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), Iran's imports from Uzbekistan stood at around 16,500 tons worth $32.5 million.
Alone in the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran imported 5,040 tons of goods worth $7.29 million from Uzbekistan.
Iran mainly imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, etc. from Uzbekistan during the reporting period.
Overall, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within the first 5 months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
