Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 June / Trend corr S.Aliyev/ "Azerenerji JSC will construct a new modular power station with the capacity of 105 MWt in the Guba region in Azerbaijan by the end of the year," Azerenerji reported on 30 June.
"Construction of the new power station has commenced," company reported.
The new power station manufactured by Finnish Wartsila will be of modular type, the same as the Baku modular electric power station (12 power-generating units each capable of 8.7 MWt). There are five modular stations in Azerbaijan. A new 300-MWt modular station is being constructed in Sangachal nearby Baku.
The new station is intended to supply power to country's northern regions where winter sports will be developing. A new skiing resort is planned to be constructed there.
A new 100-Kvolt substation and an electric line will be constructed in order to provide the northern regions with power.
