Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 September/ Trend / Marketing and Economic Operations Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported nearly 13mln tons of oil and 14mln tons of oil products in January to August 2008, State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan said.
SOCAR extracts oil in over 57 offshore fields independently. The oil products are produced by the two oil refineries in Baku with a capacity of over 20mln tons a year. SOCAR transports oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Novorossiysk pipelines.
QKSSS company of limited liability exported nearly 98,000 tons of oil products, Azneftyag oil refinery - nearly 69,000 tons and Caspian Petrol - 1 40,000 tons in January to August, Committee said.
