Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 21/ Trend / The participating countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) have passed a decision to entrust Pakistan to design project on Cooperation between Energy Systems of the ECO Participating Countries, Azerbaijan's Industry and Energy Ministry said.
The decision was passed at the 19th plenary meeting of the ECO Regional Planning Council held recently in Tehran. Rafiq Aliyev and Mahabbat Mammadov, heads of Ministry's economic department and department for control over realization of international programs respectively, attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on energy, industry and protection of environment. The possibilities of parallel and mutual cooperation of energy systems were studied.
The meeting participants also studied possibilities of cooperation in oil and non-oil fields, regional support for energy, oil and gas supply routes, alternative and renewable energy sources.
