The Aktau International Commercial Sea Port transshipped about 2.9 million tons of oil cargo in January-April compared to 3.46 million tons in January-Apri 2010, the port said.
The volume of oil cargo transshipped in 2010 totaled over 9.56 million tons compared to over 11.3 million tons in 2009.
Part of oil shipped through the Aktau port, is transported to Baku, where it is supplied to the Black Sea ports of Georgia thought railroad.
Some 519,400 tons of dry cargo shipped in January-April accounted for metal production, while 385,500 tons - ferry cargo, 20,100 - grain and 93,000 - other cargo.
In total the port shipped 3.89 million tons of various cargo in January-April.
In 2010 the port shipped over 12.8 million tons of oil and dry cargo compared to about 14 million tons in 2009.
In January-April the Aktau port received 653 ships. Last year this figure hit 2,085.
There are six international sea ports - Baku (Azerbaijan), Astrakhan (Russia), Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Enezeli and Neka (Iran) in the Caspian Sea.
