The revenue of the Turkish gas distribution system Baskent Dogal Gaz (Ankara) increased by 50 per cent amounting to 46.6 million lira in 2011, the company's website reported on Monday. The company's revenues in 2010 totalled 31 million lira.
Natural gas sales in 2011 increased by 97 per cent and amounted to 3.611 billion cubic metres. The number of the company's subscribers in 2011 also increased by 13 per cent to 1.182 million.
Baskent Dogal Gaz Company paid off all its debt to the pipeline company Botas in 2011.
Earlier it was reported that the tender for sale of a 20-percent share in Baskent Dogal Gaz (Ankara), in which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) also participates, was postponed from April to May 17, 2012. Along with SOCAR, foreign and local companies also participate in the tender.
According to the report, any company that wins the tender should pay 50 per cent of its value up front, while the remaining 50 per cent can be paid within two years after signing the contract.
Earlier SOCAR's joint petrochemical company got a licence for a gross sale in Turkey's domestic market.
The licence was issued for 30 years by the group regulating Turkey's energy market.
Earlier SOCAR reached an agreement with the Turkish side on the purchase and further sale of gas in Turkey to the volume of 1.2 billion cubic metres per year. Most gas will be delivered to Petkim's petrochemical complex owned partially by SOCAR and the remaining volume will be sold to consumers in Turkey's domestic market.
