The Persi Iran Gas Company distributes 66,500 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) a month in the country, Executive Director of the company Hamidreza Haddadi told IRNA, Trend reports.
“According to the program of the Iranian Petroleum Ministry, the liquefied gas consumption should be reduced by 5 percent annually due to the increase in gas supply to cities in Iran. At present, Iran consumes 2 million tons of liquefied gas a year. There are currently 76 liquefied gas supply companies operating in Iran. According to the approved price, each 11-kilogram capsule costs 125,000 rials (about $2.97). However, this figure rises to 200,000 rials (about $4.76) in some cases,” he said.
Haddadi added that the Persi Iran Gas Company currently supplies the LPG to Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran), south of Kerman Province, a part of Hormozgan Province, and a number of villages.
The director noted that the company tries to enter the area of distribution of petroleum products on gasoline, diesel, and CNG gas. In this regard, the first center for the sale of fuel was established in the Ahvaz city of Khuzestan Province. In the near future, such centers will be established in South Khorasan, Tehran, Hamadan, and Kermanshah provinces of Iran.
Haddadi stressed that the liquefied gas production capacity in Iran will reach 20 million tons annually with the launch of the Persian Gulf Oil Company's plant in 2025. Most of this volume will be exported. The Persi Iran Gas Company currently develops its own vehicles for the export of liquefied petroleum gas to neighboring countries.
