The implementation of NEFERTITI project, which envisages production of chemical substances such as ethanol / iso-propanol from carbon dioxide by using solar energy, will start in July 2021, SOCAR Turkey Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation Co. told Trend.
The grant agreement for the project was expected to be signed on March 1, 2021.
“The role of one of our partners in the project and the incentives it will receive are being revised in accordance with the grant law in its own country. That’s why we’re waiting. But this won’t affect our role in the project or the project itself. The project's implementation will anyway start in July,” said the company.
NEFERTITI Project consortium includes 10 companies.
NEFERTITI project envisages production of chemical substances such as ethanol / iso-propanol from carbon dioxide by using solar energy. This project will convert carbon dioxide and water into chemicals. By implementing this project the company aims to increase its experience in diversifying the use of renewable energy sources.
NEFERTITI will be among the projects to be funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program. SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Co., was among 10 international companies in the consortium, which got the right to receive funds.
The 389,000 Euros worth budget of NEFERTITI project will be fully covered by the Horizon 2020 program.
