In the first nine months of 2019, Uzbekistan’s Uzbekinvest National Insurance Company provided insurance cover to national exporters of goods and services in the amount of $547 million, which is 60 times higher than the figure for the whole 2018 ($9 million), Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Uzbekinvest collected 241 billion insurance premiums with an increase of 176 percent compared to the same period last year.
The size of accepted insurance obligations under the concluded insurance contracts amounted to $5.7 billion.
Active work with the population made it possible to ensure the collection of insurance premiums in this segment in the amount of $3.5 million, which is 2.3 times more compared to the same period in 2018.
The company collected insurance premiums from corporate sector organizations in the amount of $21.9 million with an increase of 170 percent compared to the same period last year.
As a result of active international insurance activities, the volume of obligations on projects implemented in Uzbekistan by foreign investors from the USA, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Russia, Switzerland and other countries amounted to $17 billion.
The company cooperates in this direction with leading multinational insurance and reinsurance companies such as German Allianz SE, Swiss Zurich Insurance Group, Japanese Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., French AXA, People Insurance Company of China, Korean Reinsurance Company, Russian Sogaz and others. Many of them are among the top ten insurance companies in the world.
