Foreign companies in Kazakhstan will pay tax for selling goods or services online from 2022, Anuar Suleymenov, director of the department of large taxpayers of the State Revenue Committee under the Finance Ministry, said at a press conference in the Central Communications Service, Trend reports referring to Kazinform.
"With regard to the amendments to the tax legislation, which will enter into force next year, from January 2022, the so-called "Google tax" will be introduced, which will equalize the competitive conditions between foreign and domestic companies,” Suleymenov noted. “It will be paid by foreign companies for selling goods or providing services via electronic platforms and sites. Within the framework of the value added tax, payment will be made at a rate of 12 percent.”
At the same time, according to him, a simplified procedure for terminating the activities of VAT payers will be introduced, which will affect those categories of taxpayers who are registered for VAT.
