The Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technology (IT) Ministry intends to monitor the country's Internet-market, the ministry said.
"We want to hold monitoring with participation of the Economic Development Ministry, Free Users Union and Azerbaijan Internet-Society," the ministry said.
At present the ministry is holding consultations on a format, rules and directions of monitoring which will last two months, the IT ministry said.
"It is necessary to coordinate all conditions of such monitoring with participation of all interested sides which are planned to be involved in this process," the ministry said.
The IT Ministry had a difficulty to divulge rough terms of this monitoring.
Upon monitoring of the Ministry of Communication, prices for Internet services are at the level of regional ones in Azerbaijan. So, average prices for Internet via ADSL technologies in Azerbaijan correspond to average prices over the region. Prices for unlimited package per month for speed to 1Mbit/s total from 60 to 165 manat in Azerbaijan.
