Azerbaijani post operator Azerpoct LLC has officially applied for VISA International merchant account, the company told Trend.
According to the information, VISA International and MasterCard banking cards of Azerbaijani banks can be used to make payments in Azerpoct terminals.
"Such operations are not available for foreign VISA International card holders. We want to make it possible for foreign citizens owning VISA cards to pay for goods and services along with MasterCard owners in Azerpoct," the company said.
Azerpoct LLC is a principal member of MasterCard international payment system. Azerpoct began certification project on MasterCard emission and ATM merchandising in 2011.
Azerpost LLC started to render financial services in 2012 in line with a license of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. Azerpost issued over 23,000 active payment cards. Azerpost has 15 ATMs and more than 100 POS-terminals.
