BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.20
By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement to accelerate work on the creation of a trilateral joint company with the participation of Georgia in the trade and transport sector within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan told Trend.
The joint company, providing the shortest route for the transportation of goods from the Caspian region to Europe and the Black Sea region, will effectively manage the growing flows of interregional trade, said the ministry.
The Kazakh ministry noted that the development of the transit-transport corridors, linking Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, is one of the drivers of cooperation.
“Despite the coronavirus pandemic, mutual transit traffic is growing rapidly for all types of road and maritime cargo transportation. Kazakhstan actively cooperates with Azerbaijan in the framework of renovation of the entire infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM). In this vein, within the last meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on September 9, 2021, an agreement was reached with the Azerbaijani side to accelerate work on the creation of a trilateral joint company in the trade and transport sector between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia within the TMTM,” the ministry added.
