Tengizchevroil, the largest producer of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Kazakhstan, has notified buyers from Ukraine about its plans to reduce the supply of LPG under long-term contracts in 2022 to the country, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.
According to the media, the supply volume will be decreased by 30-40 percent compared to the current year, to 19,000-22,000 tons per month.
The decrease is expected after commissioning of a polypropylene plant with a capacity of 500,000 tons per year in the Atyrau region, for which Tengizchevroil must provide the enterprise with up to 550,000 tons of propane per year.
At the same time, the administration of Nur-Sultan held talks with Tengizchevroil on the supply of additional 2,300 tons of gas to the city.
“Due to the emerging gas shortage, first of all, the fuel will be supplied to gas distribution plants and boiler houses, and only after this to gas stations," said the administration.
