ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 13. Kazakhstan expects the GRP of the Mangystau region to increase to 5.4 trillion tenge (about $11.4 billion) by the end of 2025, Trend reports.
Such expectations are reflected in the Comprehensive Plan for Socio-Economic Development of the Mangystau Region for 2021 – 2025.
According to document, GRP per capita is expected to be 6.8 million tenge.
At the same time, the government of Kazakhstan predicts an increase in investment in fixed capital of the region by 3.4 times to 1.9 trillion tenge (about $4 billion) as a result of the implementation of the comprehensive plan.
In addition to this, the number of operating SMEs will increase to 81,000 units (2020 – 52,900 units), the number of people employed in SMEs will increase to 156,000 people (2020 – 121,100 people), production output by SMEs will increase to 1.9 trillion tenge or about $4 billion (2020 – 1.3 trillion tenge or about $2.75 billion).
Furthermore, Kazakhstan's economic growth amounted to 5.1 percent in 2023. Last year, the volume of investments in fixed capital increased by 13.7 percent and amounted to $39.5 billion, while over the first nine months of 2023, $19.7 billion of foreign direct investment was attracted.
