BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 25. Kyrgyzstan has reduced imports of footwear from China by 2 times from January through February 2024, Trend reports.
As to China's General Administration of Customs, the volume of
footwear imports totalled $132.5 million. China's footwear supplies
reached $252 million during January to February 2023.
In the early 2024 structure of imports of commodities from China,
footwear accounted for 5 percent, which is twice as much as it did
last year.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's textile, clothing, leather, leather goods,
and footwear production totaled 1.285 billion soms ($14.368
million) in January 2024, up 59.2 percent from January 2023.
According to data from Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee,
overall physical production volume increased by 17.3 percent year
on year.
The production of leather, leather goods, and footwear amounted to 20.268 million soms ($226,635), increasing by 35 percent compared to January of the previous year. However, there was a significant decrease in the physical volume by 53.2 percent.
