Kyrgyzstan bolsters oil product exports in 5M2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 24. Kyrgyzstan exported 87,074 tons of oil products worth $56.644 million from January through May 2024, Trend reports.

According to the country's State Statistical Committee, the volume of these exports increased by 73.9 percent compared to 50,064 tons in the same period of 2023, and the value rose by 55.1 percent compared to $36.510 million in January–May 2023.

The bulk of Kyrgyzstan's oil exports—46,039 tons valued at $30.742 million—went to Türkiye. Uzbekistan came in as number two, with 24,536 tons valued at $7.071 million.

To note, Kyrgyzstan foreign trade turnover reached $6.488 billion in the first five months of 2024, which is an 18.6 percent increase compared to January–May 2023.

Exports totaled $1.046 billion, a 4.8 percent rise from January–May 2023. Imports increased by 21.7 percent year-on-year, reaching $5.442 billion.
