DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 1. Tajikistan's trade turnover with Russia reached $997.4 million from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 9.8 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the statistics agency under the President of Tajikistan, the country's imports from Russia during this period amounted to $907.6 million, while exports of goods to Russia amounted to $89.7 million.
Russia was Tajikistan's largest foreign trade partner, both among the CIS countries and non-CIS countries from January through July 2023.
Kazakhstan held the second position in terms of foreign trade turnover with Tajikistan among CIS countries. Over the seven months of 2023, trade between the two counties amounted to $648.3 million, declining 17.1 percent year-on-year.
The total trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia in 2022 exceeded $1.67 billion, which is 18.3 percent more than in 2021.
Overall, Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover reached about $4 billion from January through July 2023, down by 3.5 percent compared to the similar period in 2022. Throughout this period, Tajikistan maintained trade relations with 111 countries worldwide.
