DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, June 3. Tajikistan and China have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the state institution "Automobile Transport and Logistics Services" of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan and the "Jinlida International Logistics Center" of Kashgar city in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China.
According to the document, the parties will expand cooperation in transport and logistics, focusing on the development of international automobile and container transportation.
Specifically, Tajik transport businesses will benefit from the International Logistics Center's free parking and lodging for Tajik drivers and legal assistance in case of issues.
The center will also create favorable conditions for freight transportation, provide services to Tajik drivers, including loading and unloading goods, and ensure Tajik transport vehicles receive freight in Kashgar on a preferential basis.
Additionally, the parties will facilitate the participation of each other's specialists in seminars, internships, and other events to enhance the qualifications and knowledge of their employees.
Moreover, the parties have agreed to cooperate in developing the use of digital technologies to ensure road safety and simplify the cargo transportation process.
Kashgar, near the borders of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan, is home to the Jinlida International Logistics Center, which will focus on freight transit to promote Pan-Asian trade. The center is accredited by the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
Kashgar is a key logistics hub for goods transported between China and the countries of Central and South Asia, as well as other regions.
