President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree according to which the second stage of construction of the Lebap and Baharden cement plants will begin in July 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan Today State News Agency.
This decree authorizes the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the country to conclude contracts with Beyik-Bina and Turkmen Enjam companies regarding the project, in particular to move forward with setting up the production of 1 million tons of cement a year in the Baherden district of the Akhal region and in the Koytendag district of the Lebap region.
Beyik-Bina will deal withe plant in the Ahal region, while Turkmen Enjam will handle the plant in Lebap region.
The cement plants should be ready in 2022, the decree says.
Beyik-Bina and Turkmen Enjam won tenders related to the projects.
Turkmenistan's Lebap region has other cement plants too. For example, a cement factory in Garlyk city of Lebap region in Turkmenistan exported 256,000 tons of 857,000 tons of products manufactured in 2019.
