ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 18. The indicators of textile production in Turkmenistan from January through June 2023 increased compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to official data, this was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 14, 2023.
According to him, during the reporting period, the volume of products manufactured by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, including cotton yarn and fabrics, increased by 3.2 and 8 percent, respectively.
The production of garments and knitwear over the past year increased by 1.3 percent, and leather production increased by 14.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
The plan for the manufacture of carpet products at the enterprises of the Turkmenhaly State Association of Turkmenistan has been exceeded by 5.1 percent.
Due to the increasing dynamics of the construction of industrial and social facilities in Turkmenistan, the industry is becoming one of the major sectors of the economy.
