ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 8. Turkmenistan is ready to expand cooperation with French companies in the implementation of joint projects for the construction and modernization of infrastructure for sea, rail and air transportation, as well as in the creation and operation of satellite communication systems, Trend reports.
This was stated by Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Annaev, speaking at a business meeting with French companies.
According to him, Turkmenistan's partnership relations with French companies have become an integral part of the development of various spheres of transport and communications in the country.
During the meeting, he noted that the establishment of a branch of the Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore SAS classification society in Turkmenistan is being considered, as well as the possibility of cooperation on certification of vessels to be built at the Balkan shipbuilding and repairing yard, which will improve the quality and safety of the national river and marine fleet, as well as expand its operational capabilities.
The Turkmen side also expressed interest in investment cooperation in the field of railway transport with the French Geismar and Cifal companies, which specialize in the production of equipment for the construction and maintenance of railways.
"We are confident that the Turkmen-French business cooperation has great potential for further development and deepening. We urge French businessmen to use favorable conditions for investment and trade in Turkmenistan, as well as to expand contacts and partnerships with Turkmenistan's companies," Annaev said.
Meanwhile, the transport cooperation between Turkmenistan and France is an important aspect of the foreign economic relations of these two countries. Both sides are actively developing cooperation in various fields of transport, which contributes to the strengthening of their economic and political ties.
