Italian entrepreneurs who are on a visit to Uzbekistan met with the management of BMB Trade Group big domestic company to discuss the implementation of a project to create saffron plantations in the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek media.
The delegation of the Uzbek side at the negotiations was led by the chairman of the supervisory board of BMB Trade Group Bekzod Mamatkulov while the Italian side - by the president of OPERA SRL Paolo de Angelis.
The project of creating saffron plantations in the Jizzakh region is being implemented through the active support of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy.
During the visit to Uzbekistan, the Italian guests visited the Bakhmal district, where they reviewed the saffron plantations, created in cooperation with BMB Trade Group and the process of processing valuable raw materials obtained from saffron. The results of the visit were discussed at the meeting.
The sides stressed that the jointly manufactured products are currently supplied to the domestic and foreign markets and are very popular among consumers.
BMB Trade Group will begin to export saffron products to Italy under the BMB Za'faron trademark in the first decade of July 2021.
The proposals and recommendations for further expansion of cooperation were developed as a result of the negotiations.
