TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 26. The number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan amounted to 3.7 million from January through July, Trend reports.
This figure increased by 1.5 times from January through July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
There are also significant changes in the ratings of tourists who visited Uzbekistan. In the previous year, most of the tourists who visited Uzbekistan were from Kazakhstan. In 2023, citizens of Tajikistan will lead the rating. The total number of tourists arriving from neighboring countries exceeded 1.15 million, which is an increase of 80 percent compared to last year. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in second place with 912,800 people (an increase of 35 percent). Tourists from Kazakhstan are in third place with 879,000 (an increase of 23 percent). Russians rank fourth, an increase of 417,400 (an increase of 68.8 percent). Türkiye is in fifth place, with the number of tourists in the country amounting to 58,000 (an increase of 50 percent).
