Iran reveals volumes of gas processed in country

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Iran's refineries currently process 840 million cubic meters of natural gas daily, head of the Production Supervision Department of the National Gas Company of Iran Mohammad Reza Jolai told local media, Trend reports.

According to him, the gas in the mentioned volume is allocated for consumption. This year, there has been an increase in gas consumption given that temperatures are falling faster and cold weather is coming earlier.

Jolai stated that the current gas consumption in residential areas and commercial properties in the country is is around 470-500 million cubic meters per day. If gas consumption in the country is maintained at this level and gas consumption is saved, there will be less restriction on gas supply for consumption by factories.

Meanwhile, Iran is considered the second-largest gas reserve country in the world, with gas reserves of about 34 trillion cubic meters. Presently, a total of 22 gas fields are operating in Iran.

To note, Iran's gas production averages 1 bcm per day. Iran's gas consumption rises to about 800 million cubic meters per day in winter.
