BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Over 15 bcm of gas have been produced at Iran's South Pars Gas Company's (SPGC) 12th Refinery, Mehdi Gerami Shirazi, the refinery’s director, told reporters, Trend reports.

Shirazi noted that during this period, the refinery also produced over 245,000 tons of ethane, 422,000 tons of propane, 300,000 tons of butane, and 16,000 tons of sulfur.

One of SPGC's key achievements, as noted by Gerami Shirazi, is the local production of 90 percent of the required equipment and spare parts, which ensures the sustainable operation of gas processing in the country.

To note, Iran's South Pars Gas Company's (SPGC) 12th Refinery refinery has the potential to produce 75 million barrels of gas condensate per day, 400 tons of sulfur per day, 1.5 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) annually, and 1 million tons of ethane annually.

Meanwhile, the rich gas produced at the South Pars gas field is processed by the South Pars company. More than 75 percent of the gas consumed in the country is provided by this company. The company has 13 processing plants.

The South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
