Importing all industrial goods to Iran is allowed except for importing cars with engines of up to 2500CC capacity, said Seyed Abbas Hosseini, an official with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
Hosseini said importers can apply for registering their orders observing rules and regulations, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on April 8.
Regarding agricultural products, the Ministry of Agriculture defines volumes, rates, and quotas of imports to meet the domestic demand, he said.
In January 2013, Iran banned importing cars with engines of up to 2500CC capacity.
Iran's overall non-oil trade turn over stood at $102.22 billion during the last fiscal year, which ended on March 20. The figure indicates an 11.64 percent rise in comparison with the $91.56 billion trade turn over during the preceding year.
Imports shared 59.49 percent of Iran's total non-oil trade during the period, meanwhile the figure stood at 61.17 percent during the preceding year.
