Iran's import of products from Azerbaijan increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Iran's imports of products from Azerbaijan increased by 39 percent in value and 7.5 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran imported 20,400 tons of merchandise from Azerbaijan last year, totaling $47.2 million, and Iran's imports of products from Azerbaijan the previous year amounted to about 19,000 tons worth about $34 million.

The information indicates that Iran imported various equipment, pressed soybeans, different types of profiles, and other products from Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, the statistics add that Iran imported 3,030 tons of products worth $5.31 million from Azerbaijan in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024) and according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, imports of products to Iran in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.

To note, Iran focuses on importing the necessary products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on importing the products manufactured in the country.
