Azerbaijan, Monaco sign 3 memorandums on mutual co-op
Azerbaijan and Monaco have signed three memorandums on mutual cooperation.
The signing took place within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Monaco business forum held in Baku. Memorandums between the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and Monaco Economic Board, between Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Monaco Economic Board, as well as between Azalternativenerji LLC and Chamber of Renewable Energies and Ecology of Monaco were signed within the framework of the forum.
UK’s PwC to lure investors for privatization in Azerbaijan
The UK-based multinational consulting company PwC will help bring foreign investors for privatization process in Azerbaijan, the State Committee on Property Issues said.
The Committee says it has signed a memorandum of cooperation on this with PwC.
The parties have started negotiations to make the privatization process more attractive for local and foreign investors.
Azerbaijan, WB mull solving non-performing loans issue
The Financial Markets Supervision Chamber of Azerbaijan and the World Bank (WB) have discussed an action plan for reforms in the field of banking supervision, the Chamber reported. During the meeting, Rufat Aslanli, chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan’s Financial Markets Supervision Chamber, and Angela Prigozhina, WB private and financial development sector leader, also discussed the issue of non-performing loans and deposit insurance, according to the report.
Azercosmos to render telecom services to Africa, Middle East
The Azercosmos OJSC of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies has signed a contract to render telecommunication services to the leading international satellite operators, DCS Telecom and Don Telecom.
According to the contract, the DCS Telecom and Don Telecom will use the resources of the Azerspace-1 satellite for voice services, data transmission, cellular and network services, etc. in Africa and Middle East.
Serbia may use Azerbaijan’s transit potential
Serbia may use Azerbaijan’s transit potential, as well as joint the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), said Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
Mustafayev, who is on an official visit to Serbia, made the remarks during his meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic.
The minister also noted the possibility of Azerbaijani companies’ participation in the privatization process, as well as in the implementation of infrastructure and public projects in Serbia.

Azerbaijan to organize export mission to Egypt until year-end
Azerbaijan plans to organize an export mission to Egypt in 2016, Rufat Mammadov, head of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), said.
Mammadov recalled that currently, the export mission of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs is in China, and the mission to Dubai, the UAE, will be organized until the end of 2016.
“Entrepreneurs, who will visit Egypt and Dubai, will present spheres of agriculture, processing, food industry, including the production of soft drinks,” he noted.
Meanwhile, the first export mission of 12 Azerbaijani entrepreneurs is in China (Hong Kong and Guangzhou), where they will take part in two exhibitions of wine and alcoholic producers.
Iran invests nearly $1.2B in Azerbaijan's economy
Iranian investments in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to almost $1.2 billion, $145 million of which were invested in the country’s non-oil sector, Head of Azerbaijan Export and Investments Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov said.
He made the remarks at the “Investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and Iran” conference in Baku. He said that 450 companies with Iranian capital currently operate in Azerbaijan.
“In recent years, Azerbaijan has done significant work to improve the investment climate in the country, and nowadays we have concrete proposals for the Iranian investors. It is not just about investments for large companies but also for the small ones.”
Baku is hosting the “Investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and Iran” conference. Over a hundred businessmen from the both sides operating in spheres of transport, energy, industry, health care, finance, ICT and tourism are taking part in the event.

Azerbaijan-China trade turnover up by 56%
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China increased by 56 percent in the first nine months of 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015, said Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese businessmen in Baku, said Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry in a message.
Azerbaijan is interested in further development of relations with China, noted the minister.
He added that there is a big potential between the two countries in development of relations in the spheres of energy, transportation, transit freight traffic and investment.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the opportunities of expanding cooperation between the two countries’ entrepreneurs.
Azerbaijan, Iran keen to develop co-op in navigation
A meeting between the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC and a delegation of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization was held in Baku, the Azerbaijani company said in a message.
During the meeting, the sides noted necessity to develop cooperation in navigation.
Port of Baku presented at European Parliament
A presentation of the Baku International Sea Trade Port was held at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. The presentation was held during the working visit of the port’s head Taleh Ziyadov to Belgium.
During the visit, Ziyadov also held negotiations with Henrik Hololei, director general for mobility and transport at the European Commission, and discussed prospects of future cooperation.

Ilham Aliyev arrives in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Fuzuli district for a visit.
The head of state was informed about the work and projects carried out in the district in recent years, as well as the facilities to be built in the coming years.
WB ready to provide technical aid to Azerbaijan
The World Bank (WB) is ready to provide technical assistance to support the strengthening of macroeconomic stability in Azerbaijan, said the WB leading expert Naoko Kojo.
Kojo made the remarks during his meeting with Rufat Aslanli, chairman of Board of Directors at Azerbaijan’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority.
The sides discussed the current macroeconomic situation in Azerbaijan, prospects of its development, improvement of legislation, the progress in economic reforms, including the reforms conducted to strengthen the macroeconomic stability in the country.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has viewed “Qarabag Taxil” LLC pilot grain farm as part of his visit to Beylagan district. Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev informed the head of state of the production process at the farm.
