BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. Azerbaijan’s Kangarli Solar Power Plant (SPP) produced 7.812 MWh of electricity in 2024, the State Energy Service of Nakhchivan said in response to Trend.

In accordance with the agreement signed on May 17, 2018, between the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Swiss Sàrl Pure Energy Development company for the construction of the Kangarli SPP with a capacity of 2 megawatts, corresponding construction and installation works were carried out.

Furthermore, a contractual arrangement was executed on August 9, 2019, between the Swiss Sàrl Pure Energy Development entity and the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to augment the station's design capacity by an additional 3 megawatts.

The station's design capacity experienced an augmentation of 3 megawatts on July 8, 2020, culminating in a total capacity of 5 megawatts. The facility is engineered to generate an annual output of 7.5 million kilowatt-hours of electrical energy.
