Defence Minister, head of border control dismissed in Turkmenistan (UPDATED)

Turkmenistan. Ashgabat, Jan.21 / Trend , E. Hasanov / The President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov made a range of personnel appointments in the law-enforcement block. Thus, Defense Minister Agageldi Mammetgeldiyev, 63, was sent in retirement. Commander of Border Control Bayram Alavov was dismissed. Reason of the dismissal is unknown, an official Turkmen source said.

Their posts were occupied by former head of customs department of the country Yaylim Berdiyev and Murad Islamov who headed the state service on drug control.

At the same time, Berdiyev headed the migratory service. Still there are no other information . Islamov was born in 1965. Has the diploma of jurist of the State University in Minsk ( Belarus). He worked in the Presidential Administration of Turkmenistan, was consultant in the Cabinet of Ministers and also headed migratory service.

Serious staff changes were made in the Turkmen government on the recommendations of the General Prosecutor's Office. As a result the heads of the state concern Turkmenneft and Turkmengeology , ministers of energy, communication, social welfare, tourism and sport, including heads of the Turkmenkhlopok , Turkmenkonevodstvo and others were replaced.
