The Iranian president's special envoy for the Caspian Sea demanded to finish discussions on the Convention concerning a juridical status of the Caspian Sea, Fars news agency reported.
"Regarding that the Caspian countries' presidents desire to sign the Convention on a juridical status of the Caspian Sea in a short period of time, I consider necessary to quickly sign this important document," Iranian President's Special Envoy on the Caspian Sea Mehdi Safari said at the 25th meeting of the working group on the Caspian Sea status in Moscow.
Safari said signing the Convention will favor great development of mutual cooperation among the Caspian countries.
Safari said the first meeting of the port directors of the Caspian countries will take place in the Iranian Anzali city on May 5-6. "We have sent letters to neighbor countries on this issue. We want them to announce their representatives who will attend the meeting," Safari said.
