Exhibition of Azerbaijani painters organized in Netherlands

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 23/ Trend , J. Babayeva/ Ana Vatan, union of Azerbaijani women operating in Netherlands and newly-established society Dutch Friends of Azerbaijan organized exhibition of famous Azeri painters in the well-known Regentkamera gallery of Hague.

Alexander Burgers, head of the gallery and member of the Municipal Council of Hague, said there is a great interest in Azeri culture in Netherlands and expressed his hope that local residents will have more opportunity to get familiar with the diverse samples of Azerbaijani culture in future.

Maisa Agamirzayeva, vice president of Ana Vatan union of women, informed participants of the exhibition about Azerbaijan's rich culture and introduced works of Azeri painters Rasim Huseynov, Vafa Rustamova, Elman Aliyev and Lena Sangin, who live in Netherlands.

Elchin Bashirov, first secretary of Azerbaijan's embassy in the Kingdom of Netherlands, expressed his gratitude to Hague municipality, Ana Vatan union of women, Dutch Friends of Azerbaijan society for informing about Azerbaijani culture. Official of the embassy said he is hopeful that series of such events will be held in future.

Mrs. Marika Bolle, deputy Hagur mayor for cultural affairs, said she is satisfied with enhancing Azerbaijan-Netherlands bilateral cultural cooperation. She said she will support all events to be held by the municipality about Azerbaijan.

The participants of the event listened performance of the Azeri opera singer Adil Abdullayev, who lives in Netherlands.

The guests got acquainted with the samples of the rich Azeri cuisine at the end of the event.
