ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 29. The GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan has steadily remained at 6.3 percent since the beginning of this year, the country's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said during a meeting of the People’s Council in Ashabat today, Trend reports via official Turkmen media.

"The growth dynamics of the national economy are consistent. The GDP growth rate has remained stable at 6.3 percent since the start of this year, serving as an indicator of the successful implementation of the reforms being carried out across the country," the head of state emphasized.

According to the media, the government is taking targeted measures to enhance the effectiveness of state investment policies.

Positive progress is being observed in the implementation of regional and national investment projects, contributing to the strengthening of the economic potential of various regions, the media said.

Additionally, the recent Turkmenistan Investment Forum provided opportunities to enhance economic partnerships with the global community, allowing for the establishment of new business contacts and the presentation of the country's investment potential.

According to the "Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments in 2024," by the end of 2024, significant capital investments amounting to over 11 billion US dollars will be utilized.

These funds will be directed toward infrastructure development and the modernization of production and social-cultural facilities.

To note, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts Turkmenistan's GDP growth at 6.5 percent in September 2024. The bank also predicts an increase in gas exports in the medium term, which will lead to a rise in the current account surplus in 2024 and 2025.
